DELILAH

how-to-deal-with-infidelity-500x350Based on Tom Jones’ “Delilah”

Buhay ang ilaw mo nang ako’y dumaan
Bukas mong bintana’y dagling nilapitan
Humihip ang hangin kurtina’y hinipan
Tagpong bumulaga ako’y ginulantang

Kambal-tukong anino sa aking harapan
Sumasayaw sa indayog ng kataksilan
At nang marating rurok ng kaliluhan
Luha’y sinalubong inyong kagalakan

Nanginig ang tuhod palayong humakbang
Ngunit impit mong tili ako’y sinundan
Katawang umindayog sa kahalayan
Umukit sa isip ayaw akong tantanan

Ako’y kumatok pintuan mo’y binuksan
Ako’y pumasok s’ya nama’y nagpaalam
Nang kita’y tanungin ako’y tinawanan
Ngunit tahimik ka nang punyal ko’y hawakan

Saan nga ba Delilah ako nagkulang
‘Di ba’t buhay ko sa iyo nakalaan
Nagtitiis kahit iyong sinasaktan
Ngunit ‘di tatanggaping iyong pagtaksilan

About HARDPEN

Teacher-Writer Hardpen is my nom de plume. My real name is Massuline Antonio Dupaya Ligaya. Many times I was asked the question, "Why do you write?" I don't write for rewards nor adulation. When I write poems, stories or essays, seeing them completed gives me immense joy and satisfaction. The happiness and sense of fulfillment I feel when completing my works are my rewards. When I teach, I don't work but I play. The classroom is my playground, the students are my playmates, and the subject is our toy. Proud to be me! Proud to be a FILIPINO! TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
